Arsenic Removal
Better Arsenic Removal for Municipal Potable Water Systems
Arsenic in groundwater is a rapidly growing problem, and you’re probably aware of the very low levels of this contaminant permitted in municipal water…only 10 parts per billion (ppb). At the same time, the US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that in some areas, as many as 20% of wells have arsenic contamination above this level.
But like iron, arsenic is another intruder you can remove far more effectively with Macrolite® Engineered Ceramic Media. In co-precipitation systems, Macrolite easily outperforms conventional aggregates in arsenic removal and pre-backwash retention. Macrolite can often remove effluent arsenic down to below detectable limits (<2 ppb), even with a high influent concentration.
